Sports injuries

Sprains, strains and overuse injuries, from the field, the gym or the trail.

Two kinds of sports injury

Sports injuries come either from sudden trauma, like a collision or a fall, or from overusing one part of the body again and again.

From a hit or a fall

  • Bruises: bleeding from small blood vessels under the skin
  • Strains: overstretched or torn muscle fibers
  • Sprains: a ligament stretched past its limit

From overuse

  • Runner’s knee
  • Tennis elbow
  • Tendinosis

The first few days

When soft tissue is hurt, healing starts with inflammation: pain, swelling, heat, redness and loss of function. This first stage usually lasts about five days, and early care aims to keep it in check so healing can move on. Remember P.R.I.C.E.S.:

  • Protect
  • Rest
  • Ice
  • Compression
  • Elevation
  • Stabilize

How we help

Gentle Activator adjustments, then rehabilitation and an exercise program to rebuild strength and get you back to your sport.

Get emergency care first for a possible broken bone, a head injury or concussion, or a neck or back injury after a hard hit.

Ready when you are

Feel better, gently.

Request a time online and we’ll call to confirm, or just pick up the phone. Emergency care is available.
